The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.

The Aiken County Veterans Affairs Office provides professional counseling and assistance to over 15,000 veterans and their 40,000 dependents who apply for various State and Federal benefits available to the veteran for honorable service in the United States Armed Forces. Our dedicated personnel feel honored to assist these veterans in and around Aiken County who have fought and continue to fight to preserve the liberty and freedoms enjoyed by all American citizens.

Saratoga WarHorse assists Veterans who are suffering from psychological wounds by providing an equine-assisted experience that initiates empowering changes. Saratoga WarHorse offers veterans a three-day experience that has proven to be effective and invaluable for those struggling to adjust to life after military service. The program is provided at no cost to the veterans.
Wreaths Across America's mission is to Remember, Honor and Teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 1,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad each December on National Wreaths Across America Day.
